# New dataset approvals

Community members and contributors may help a developer get to the point of submitting a new dataset site with peer-to-peer support, however a **maintainer must approve every new dataset site**

This ensures that the tooling is working correctly, and that a high quality of data is maintained

Maintainers must act in the bests interests of OpenActive, rather than their employing organisation, and avoid any temptation to approve a sub-standard implementation. Instead, feedback should be given to the implementer, with a clear remedy.

A list of datasets "pending" approval can be found in pending.jsonld, and may be accessed by data users. This also powers the status page.
